New Mexico Elections

ALBUQUERQUE – As the new secretary­ treasurer of Teamsters Local 492. I would like to congratulate our former principal officer, Trey White, on his decision to retire. 

Trey served this local union for more than 36 years. starting at ABF where he served as a steward. Subsequently, he served on the Local 492  Executive  Board as a trustee, recording secretary and president.

During this time Trey also became a business agent and eventually served as secretary-treasurer and principal officer of Teamsters Local 492.

Enjoy your retirement, brother, you have earned it.

For those of you who do not know me, my career started at UPS in 1993 as a part-time employee at the Albuquerque Hub. In July 2000 became a package car driver, and finally a feeder driver in May 2015. In January 2021, I became a business agent for Local 492.

I served as a union steward and alternate steward in every job I have held with UPS. I served on the local’s executive board as a trustee from 2010-2021 when I became president and now secretary-treasurer. I look forward to serving each of you in my new position.

Our local union’s annual Teamsters Appreciation Day was held on September 24. Turnout was amazing and it was nice to be able to spend time with our members and their families.

Local 492 has endorsed a list of political candidates who we believe will support organized labor. I encourage you to study the list we put together. and please get out and vote.

We are currently gearing up for contract negotiation with UPS, ABF, and Yellow Freight. We will be sending out surveys and will be scheduling proposal meetings in the coming weeks. Please take part in both. Only with help from our members will we get the contracts they deserve.
